About This Game STORYIn 2194 humanity has populated the entire galaxy. As our existence expanded, crime became harder and harder to control in the vast reaches of space. As a result, laws became more strict. Government attempts to wrangle the issue bolstered a growing police force and, over many years, the reach of law enforcement grew larger and more aggressive. The general population, simply wanting to feel safe, grew more accepting and the first fully commercially run prison systems took form.Nearly one hundred years later, in 2290 imprisonment is commonplace. A blind trust has been placed in the commercial justice system eventually landing everyday people in jail for years for even the smallest offenses creating a massive divide between the idea of prisoner and person. Hundreds of commercial prisons and law enforcement companies thrive.Devaluing of prisoner lives and massive prison overpopulation gave birth to an auction system where anyone could purchase prisoners for any use free of legal ramifications.Acquired in the most recent bulk order of prisoners for BioMass Labs, you are being shuttled off for study at the Kohate testing facilities. No information is known about the details of the study. You have been black-bagged, loaded onto a transport shuttle, and are waiting for law enforcement to release you to the company.THE GAMEThe subject is a sci-fi puzzle game designed to combine a mix of classic puzzle adventure games with horror elements and visual aesthetics of early 80s sci-fi.You will need to learn to navigate the complex to find your way to the various testing rooms set out in the experiment and collect items needed to progress through the maze. You are being monitored by those running the tests and are required to visit a bio-data terminal periodically to record your vital signs and other data for record keeping. If you fail to do so, you will be removed from testing by euthanization.FeaturesPuzzlesCollectionCasual ModeTwitch IntegrationStealthSurvival 7aa9394dea Title: The SubjectGenre: Adventure, IndieDeveloper:DarkStone DigitalPublisher:DarkStone DigitalRelease Date: 30 Nov, 2018 The Subject Download Windows 8.1 the subject biology. the subject is puberty. the subject line of an email message. the imitation game subject crossword. does the subject english need to be capitalized. why the subject english is important. i hate the subject english. the subjects of oceanic art are usually about. subject to the final approval. the subject of knobs. the subject chemistry. the subject complement. the number subject verb agreement. the subject tonight is love kate mcgarry. a subject english meaning. the subject of ymir. the subject definition. the subject chinua achebe studied in college. the subject game. the subject i like best english. the subject examples. what is the subject english all about. subject the deals with mass velocity energy. the subject was roses martin sheen. the easiest subject in engineering. on the subject of 5 letters. the subject meaning in english. the subject 0 shattered memories. changing the subject questions and answers. the subject bible. the subject ke naam english mein. the subject nyc. on the subject of passwords. the subject of electrical engineering. the faith subject to change rar. the subject line is used to. the subject of a source can best be described as the. subject a university. what is the subject english grammar. the subject is. the subject was roses. the interpassive subject zizek. the subject pronouns. the subject i like most english. the subject term of the conclusion in a syllogism is. the subject who is truly loyal to the chief magistrate. the subject heading of a letter refers to. a unit subject of nstu. the subject refers. the subject and power pdf. the passage subject zero. the subject did not survive interrogation. what is the subject english called in america. questions to the subject exercises. the flash 4x14 subject 9. what are the 6 subject pronouns in spanish. importance of the subject english for academic and professional purposes. get off the subject 7 letters. the subject bible review. the subject and power foucault pdf. translate the english subject pronouns to spanish. the subject dictionary. the dead zone subject. the dead zone subject crossword. what are the english subject pronouns. change the subject to x. the subject treated in a paragraph or work. the subject of a report or table. the subject line for a persuasive e-mail should. the subject line of a business message should. the subject video game. the subject in english. the subject cartoon. the subject line of an email should be written. the subject line of a formal letter should be. the subject vr. the subject person. the subject education. what is the subject journalism. the subject of the second part of messiah is the. the subject of the macroeconomic research. what does the english subject cover. the subject speaks its own importance. subject a-z. on the subject of passwords keep talking. change the subject jewelry. panopticon on the subject of mortality rar. the subject of macroeconomics. changing the subject english. subject to the final approval 中文. the subject and power. the importance of english subject at school. the subject you like most essay. the subject heat and mass transfer emphasis on. who invented the subject english Very atmospheric, with a sense of urgency. The monster that lurks in the corridoors has amazing sound quiality with the pounding footsteps on your heels as you scramble for somewhere to hide. Not quite as deadly as Aliens: Isolation where if the Alien saw you it was over, in this game you can escape at least if you are savvy enough. The puzzles are challenging and not easy which is nice, a challenge can be very rewarding once you figure them out.So far I would recommend this game alone just because of the atmosphere of the creature chasing you gives me sucha thrill and gets my heart pouding.. I want to ask dev team add subtitles in game - i mean that part when talking head ( spoooiiiillleeeerrrr next ) gives us some number sequence and add something like 'over 36' and im sure it's not what i'm hear cause english is not my focking native language!!!!%#$!$!%!%!%^!%! Make subs duuuuude!. I love the idea of the game but the execution is lacking. One of the first puzzles is a sliding puzzle but 3D and I'm certain almost nobody likes those. You need to align glowing tubes to the outside part of the puzzle but you can't always see said tubes due to the 3D nature of the puzzle. It makes an already unfun puzzle into a memory game affair. The monster that stalks the area you're in is locked out of main puzzle areas which begs the question why the monster even exists if its not a core gameplay element. Lethe Episode One has a few puzzles in it that has a monster stuck with you while you try to solve the puzzle and that's been one of the scariest gaming memories I've had. The Subject takes the easy way out while also have less fun/interesting puzzles. The map you can see of the area is also pretty useless but the area you're in isn't too big but it can be tedious to wander aimlessly.Basically, I'd recommend Lethe: Episode One over The Subject. The Subject has the better premise but Lethe has the better game. And they're similar spooky experiences to boot.. 6/10 and recommended if you can get it under $10. Good for 3-5 hours of gameplay. The premise of the game is that you must explore the spaceship and solve puzzles while avoiding a monster that is chasing you. The story and acting are well done, and the graphics are also very good. If you like games that allow you to take your time and explore, then be aware that a monster is constantly lurking around so you cannot relax. You also need to go to different recharge stations for both your life and your flashlight, both of which are on a timer. I'm not a fan of avoid-the-monster games nor do I like being rushed, so both the monster and the recharging were annoyances. Another heads up is that there is no autosave, so if the monster gets you before you can make it to a charging station, your progress will be lost. The puzzles are OK. Many just involve you finding and activating all of the switches, and many others are just trial and error. The are 4 major puzzles in rooms where the monster cannot enter. Of course, your flashlight and life are on timers, so even if you make some progress, you must run out of the rooms and reset your life, but if the monster gets you, your progress is wiped. Also frustrating and not fun.The environment was WAY too large and confusing, which was made worse by the lack of a map. There are endless tunnels that all look similar that have multiple branches. You spend most of the game wandering around. I had to actually map out the routes on paper just to be able to find things. The developers should seriously consider adding a map on the screen.. Honestly the game started out great, then it introduced a crawlspace to me and no matter how many times I restart the game it will NOT allow me to crawl through it. Runnin a gtx 1080 ti, i8700k, blah blah im sure you know where I'm going with that, its a well built computer. I've tried to verify integrity of files, and I still can't beat that crawlspace boss XD RIP. Very well made indie-horror game. Lots of fun puzzles and the atmosphere is great. There is no hand-holding when you are thrust into this situation where you must figure out what to do yourself (won't spoil anything). The monster is scary, fast, and unrelenting which puts you in a lot of high-tense chase sequences. The art style reminds me of Alien: Isolation while the gameplay reminds me of Amnesia/Penumbra. This is an awesome game (especially at $10, I consider that a steal) that will probably take you 4-6 hours to beat. I thoroughly enjoyed both of my playthroughs and recommend it to anyone who enjoys a horror games!. Way too dark as usual these days, can't see a thing and no way of knowing where you are. No torches no lighter or matches, just eternal darkness with a few lit corridors just for fun. I'm so sick of these games where everything is black and you are supposed to wander around aimlessly until you die of bordome. Dont bother with this rubbish. Also you cant rebind keys so that adds to the fun as well. Save your money and go buy a real game.. 6/10 and recommended if you can get it under $10. If it wasn't for the stupid AI monster interrupting your puzzling every 5 seconds, this game would be a decent puzzler. A bit about me.: I'm very excited to be launching my first solo indie title so soon!Right now, I'm hard at work on polish and bug fixing to try and get the best product out I can. I want to thank the members in my discord that test the game. You really help make sure people have a better experience.Anyway! As launch marches closer and it being such a large milestone for me and my video game development career, I thought I would share a post about myself for those that may be following the game but are new to me as a developer. Most don't know that I am a one-man development team, I have a 13 year history in AAA games, and I do everything for my projects from art to code. It's been amazingly fun. The most fun I have had in my career. If you want to get to know more about me, check out my blog post on the DSD site.https://www.darkstonedigital.com/blog/dsd-indie-team-of-oneIf you are reading this, thank you so much for following my project. It means a great deal to me and I hope you enjoy The Subject when it launches.Check back here for announcements, patch notes, and more as The Subject moves into a live product! Talk to you soon.-Brian. Patch 1.1.3 Notes: - Fixed a bug where you could stand up through the wall at the door of the access tunnel hiding spaces- Fixed an issue where you would not be able to get the "beat the game without saving achievement" due to the new bio scan save system. Large patch out soon - Twitch integration: INFO VIDEOHappy to announce that I will be pushing a rather large patch for The Subject soon! Patch 1.1.4 Notes: - Various bug fixes- Fixed a number of locations the monster would get stuck- Fixed a bug where the end of long hallways may disappear- Key binding work started (not implemented). Pre-launch Patch 0.9.1: Some quick changes have been made based on play through from folks along with bug fixes.+ You will not lose your saved game if you die. (Starting a new game will still remove your saved game)+ Puzzle elements in the open maze have been adjusted to be more localized+ Starting maze experience has been scaled down to help ease players into things. Finding the flashlight will be easier.+ Save notification when you save the game+ Some additional propping has been done but will be completed in the 1.0 build for launch. The intent is to aid in identifying sections of the maze better.. Update 1.2.1 - hot fix: Fixed a reported issue related to jumping in the game. On a completely unrelated note, jumping has been removed as it holds no game play value at this time...New changes coming soon!. Linux build launch issue (workaround): I've gotten a few reports of the linux build throwing up an error saying it can't find an exe which seems to be something that's happened before with other games. However, there is a workaround while I try to hunt down the cause of this issue assuming it's not on steam's end. Right click on The Subject in your game library and go to properties. Click the "Local Files" tab Click "Browse Local Files"There you should see the launch file for The Subject and the game should start up.Thank you for your patience and I'm sorry if you run into this issue. Please let me know if this workaround doesn't work for you. Thank you!-Brian
